Furey’s takes a further Volvo coach

Sligo-based Furey’s Coaches has taken delivery of a new Volvo B11R 9700 to add to its fleet, following an earlier purchase of a B11R Jonckheere JHV2 in March last year and a Volvo 9700 in 2016.

“We needed a new coach for our fleet to work on our increasingly busy tour programme in Ireland,” says Aiden Furey, director. “Our previous experience of Volvo quality, operational costs and reliable support network, meant we had no hesitation in selecting Volvo once again and this time we decided to switch to the fully integrated B11R 9700 which we have seen and heard such great things about.”

Destined for use on a range of private and touring work, the B11R 9700 is 12.3m long and has passenger capacity of 51 seats.

“This is a significant investment for our business and it was great to have our Volvo coach sales manager, Dave Porter, guiding us through the whole process from initial specification through to final delivery,” adds Furey.

“Aftermarket support is also important to us and we have a good working relationship with our local dealership, Murphy Commercials of Galway, which was also a key consideration for us when choosing Volvo Bus.”

A family-owned business, Furey’s Coaches was established in 1972 and specialises in corporate travel, golf tours, school trips, sports events and professional guided tours around Ireland.
