London-based Westbus has taken two new Iveco Daily Hi-Matic Euro 6 midicoaches supplied through Ireland-based Brian Noone, which developed the Turas range of minibus and midicoach bodies.
The Turas 600s-bodied 25-seaters were chosen after Westbus were given a demonstrator to trial. General manager Tim Miles believes they are a serious option for all coach operators.
“We are new to this product and the demonstrator proved to us this is the best vehicle on the market to replace our older midicoaches. What really stood out for us was the smoothness of the drive and how quiet it was inside,” says Miles.
“Our work can vary from airport pick-ups to corporate events, so it was vital for us to get a luxury vehicle – and the Iveco is exactly that. Passenger comfort is increased by the extra legroom we have got.”
The Daily 70C18s, which will remain in service with Westbus for three years, have been fitted with luxury leather reclining seats, air-conditioning, individual LED reading lights, USB charging points, full draw curtains, reversing camera and an on-board PA system.
Both feature Iveco Hi-Matic automatic transmission.
Westbus has been operating for more than 30 years providing coach hire from a range of vehicles seating between eight and 82 passengers.
