Electric wins in Sweden and Switzerland for VDL

VDL Bus & Coach is to supply four Citeas SLFA-181 Electric buses to Keolis Sverige AB in Karlstad, Sweden for operation on a new BRT-inspired line in the city.

The buses for Karlstad are due to go into operation on 9 December 2018.

We are really happy with the result and are expectant to show the buses for the residents of Karlstad.”

VDL has also delivered its  first Citea Electric for Switzerland to PostBus Switzerland. The bus is part of a pilot project and is deployed on line 342 between Sarnen Bahnhof and Alpnach Dorf Bahnhof. The application is a pilot for PostBus to gain experience with electric operation. In addition to the electric bus, VDL will also supply the charging stations.

The Citea SLF-120 Electric for PostBus is equipped with a 180kWh battery pack, and will be charged during the night at the depot in Sarnen and during the day at the Alpnach Dorf Bahnhof train station, the end of the route where the bus stops for an average of 15 minutes to be charged.
