New European electric charging joint venture

A joint venture between DKV Euro Service and, a leading German energy company Innogy has won approval from competition authorities and now plans to launch a European solution for payment processing of electric vehicle charging.

Charge4Europe will offer solutions to operators of electric commercial vehicle fleets throughout Europe, with future plans to offer public charging services throughout Europe. Christopher Schäckermann and Diego Ramirez-Gölz  were appointed to the management of the new Charge4Europe joint venture.

The joint venture will target corporate customers and fleet operators with electric vehicle or hybrid vehicle fleets. Employees will be able to recharge their vehicles regardless of the service provider, with costs billed in a single invoice. Toll payments can also be billed conveniently using their system.

With around 7,000 networked charging stations, Innogy is a leading operator of charging infrastructure in Europe, while DKV Euro Service manages billing services for 170,000 customers, covering refuelling, road tolls and EV charging.
