Eberspaecher is supplying climate control systems for electric buses supplied by Chinese manufacturers BYD and Golden Dragon to Israel. The thermal management specialists are equipping more than 40 buses with electric roof-mounted air-conditioning system AC 136 AE HP. The zero-emission vehicles will be used by Israeli transport companies in Tel Aviv, Haifa and, for the first time, in Jerusalem.
The electrically-driven air-conditioning solution has been specially tailored to the requirements of hybrid and electric buses, according to Eberspaecher. It has a reversible refrigerant circuit, that combines cooling and heating functions in a single device. In addition, the system has one hundred per cent fresh air supply.
“Our high performance electric air-conditioning systems contribute to a high level of passenger comfort and clean mobility in the public transport system,” says Oliver Wels, general manager, Eberspaecher Climate Control Systems Bus & Coach. “Bus manufacturers additionally benefit from diagnostics-capable components, a brushless fan and the system’s modular design, which enables quick and easy installation.
“Chinese manufacturers have an enormous share in the global electric bus market. Therefore, cooperation with BYD and Golden Dragon is a key step for us in further expanding our global presence in this market.”
