Stanley Travel, based in County Durham, has added a Plaxton Panther and a 37-seat Cheetah to its fleet of more than 100 vehicles.
The 12.8m, 57-seat B8R Panther with I-Shift transmission is already working on school trips to mainland Europe, while the 230hp Cheetah has gone into service transferring Emirates flight crews between Newcastle International Airport and hotel accommodation in Gateshead.
Started with “two vehicles and a wooden hut” in 1961, Stanley Travel is now a leading operator in the region, running bus services, university and school contracts, day trips, UK tours, holiday and educational visits to continental Europe.
Director Ian Scott, who runs the business with his brother Andrew, says: “Our new vehicles have gone straight into service and are in good company as 80 per cent of our coach fleet is Plaxton vehicles, including Elite models and a significant number of Panthers.
“Our relationship with Plaxton goes back many years and at the end of the day we find their vehicles modern, stylish and consistent. Add first class aftermarket support and it is the perfect combination really, which explains why we will be taking delivery of another new Panther in just a few weeks.”
