Real-time driver fatigue and distraction monitoring to prevent accidents

New face – and eye-tracking technology to detect when drivers are fatigued or distracted behind the wheel is available from Guardian by Seeing Machines, providing real time alerts to reduce the risks of an accident happening. The system also features a forward-facing camera which captures information about road conditions at the time of a detected event.

When a fatigue or distraction event is detected, data and footage are immediately relayed to the 24/7 Guardian Centre, where the event is analysed by the Seeing Machines monitoring team. If a fatigue event is confirmed, the team then alerts fleet management and allows them to respond in real-time to the developing situation in their vehicle.

Seeing Machines, an Australian-based specialist in computer vision technologies, says its Guardian system is used by transport and logistics companies worldwide and has been proven to reduce fatigue events by more than 90 per cent.

The Company’s machine learning vision platform aims to deliver real-time understanding of drivers through Artificial Intelligence (AI) analysis of heads, faces and eyes which monitor driver/operator attention and can identify drowsiness and distraction across multiple transport sectors.

Seeing Machines develops driver monitoring solutions for the automotive, commercial fleet, aviation, rail and off-road markets.
