Kent operator ASD Coaches has taken delivery of a new Volvo B8R SB3 as part of a fleet expansion due to high demand for large capacity coach contracts.
“For the past couple of years, we have been running a Volvo Sunsundegui which has been completely reliable and suited our needs perfectly,” says ASD Coaches’ Rasham Singh Dosanjh. “However, demand for a coach with a larger seating capacity has increased, especially with our school contracts, and we had no hesitation in once again turning to Volvo for this expansion.
“We like the idea of a coach which is single-deck, but still spacious, allowing us easy access in and around London where tunnels and bridges are prevalent. Ensuring this coach was ULEZ compliant was also essential to our operation.
“Last year, we concentrated on updating our minibus fleet, and this year, to mark our 40th anniversary, we wanted to purchase another flagship coach to supplement our fleet and secure additional contract opportunities.”
Dosanjh adds that in addition to school contracts, the 72-seat capacity coach allows the operator to take two classrooms per vehicle making this an affordable choice for headteachers when planning school outings.
ASD Coaches is a family-owned company which was established in 1979.
