North West based surfacing company, Miles Macadam, has completed surfacing works for what is claimed to be Europe’s first multi-storey coach parking complex at Wembley Stadium.
When complete, the multi-storey coach park, designed and built by German car park specialist Huber, will have two levels with capacity for 290 vehicles. Coaches will be organised according to length, height and weight.
Around 12,000 sq m of Miles Macadam’s macadam, Hardicrete was specified for the upper deck of the coach park to ensure longevity.
Hardicrete is a reinforced surfacing material and a hybrid between asphalt and concrete, designed to provide high strength combined with flexibility. It is also jointless and has a rapid installation time.
The product has been used extensively throughout the UK including in bus stations, ports and airfields.
Kit Ebben, director, Miles Macadam, says: “It’s a huge achievement for us to be selected to work on Europe’s first multi-storey coach park, and to work on such an innovative, multi-million-pound project.”
