EYMS 90th anniversary bus reflects changing liveries
East Yorkshire Motor Services is 90 years old this month and to mark the celebrations, EYMS is presenting a bus in a colour scheme which represents the four main liveries used during that 90 years. The front is the current burgundy/cream, the centre section is the NBC poppy red with the NBC logo on the offside, and on the nearside centre section is a slightly modified poppy red scheme that the company adopted immediately after privatisation from NBC. This also shows the East Yorkshire fleetname incorporating a white rose which it originally adopted, before reverting to a more traditional style in the current livery.
The rear section of the bus is in the original indigo and primrose scheme inherited from one of the two operators which came together to form EYMS – Lee and Beulah of Elloughton.
The anniversary colour scheme was developed in EYMS’ in-house design studio and the bus is pictured at the Elloughton depot which is still on the same site as the Lee and Beulah garage
