NCT first female bus driver of the year
Nottingham City Transport has honoured its bus driver of the year by naming one of its buses after Amanda Ogelsby, who is the first female driver to win the award, contested by more than 800 of its drivers. The newly-named bus, complete with a full-size photograph of Ogelsby on the rear, operates on one of her regular routes, Green 11 between the city, Meadows and Lady Bay, and was unveiled by the lord mayor of Nottingham Jackie Morris.
“To win this award out of over 800 drivers is truly impressive and it gives me enormous pleasure to name this bus after Amanda,” says Morris. “This is a fantastic way to recognise her as NCT Driver of the Year.”
NCT marketing manager Anthony Carver-Smith adds: “We believe all of our Driver of the Year winners well and truly fall into this category so we’ve named a bus after each of them.
“As our buses are seen and used by hundreds of thousands of people every week, it’s the perfect way to highlight how proud we are of our team.”
