New Arriva commuter service for Magna Park
Arriva Buses is launching a new X45 commuter service next month which will connect Magna Park with Lutterworth, Glen Parva, Narborough Road, Leicester city centre, Beaumont Leys and Thurmaston.
Operating seven days a week, the service has been designed to meet the needs of the many shift workers employed at Magna Park, which is Europe’s largest dedicated distribution location.
“We’re delighted to be working with Magna Park to open up access for the many people employed there,” says Steve Smith, Arriva area manager in Leicester. “Our new service offers a simple, hassle-free way to commute, whilst cutting down congestion on the roads in and around the site. It presents a great value for money option for commuters, whilst giving them back valuable ‘me time’ as they travel to and from work.
“People could even benefit from our innovative mobile apps which can allow them to not only track where their bus is on route, but also purchase tickets on their phones using our m-ticket. Catching the bus really never has been easier, and we’re sure that with the launch of this partnership the many thousands of employees at Magna Park will start to feel the immediate benefits.”
Set in a fully landscaped, park-land environment, Magna Park is home to 29 different businesses, with more than 8.3 million sq ft of warehouse space.
“This new service through to Leicester is a very important addition to making Magna Park more accessible and environmentally efficient,” adds Gwyn Stubbings, planning director at site owner IDI Gazeley. “The bus will make a very positive contribution to sustainable travel reducing vehicle movements to Magna Park.”
