New Manchester airport service to be launched by easyBus
A new service from Manchester airport to the city centre and Manchester University is being launched by easyBus with an introductory offer of 20,000 seats on sale at £1 each.
The service will operate 60 times per day from Friday 21 October 2016 and run between the airport bus and coach station and the University and central Manchester. Online booking is available from 2 September.
The service is easyBus’ first in the north of England and will be operated by Express Airport Transfers who already operate easyBus routes in France.
“By providing year-round budget airport transfers, easyBus will help the traveller’s pound go that little bit further – particularly after sterling’s fall - that means more opportunity to enjoy what their holiday destinations have to offer,” says Stelios Haji-Ioannou, easyBus chairman.
“I’m also confident we can make a big impact by making Manchester airport even more accessible to those on a budget when compared with today’s sky-high taxi fares.”
Andrew Martin, owner of Express Airport Transfers adds: “We have been successfully operating easyBus in France and are excited to now bring the easyBus service to Manchester airport in the UK. With over 14 years experience of providing low-cost airport transfers in France, the synergy between our two brands make our ongoing partnership a natural progression and continues our goal of delivering the best value airport transfers for our customers”.
Existing easyBus routes in France include Geneva airport to Chamonix and Morzine, and the company also offers UK routes to/from central London, serving Gatwick, Stansted and Luton airports from Victoria coach station, Liverpool Street, Waterloo, Old Street, Baker Street and Earls Court.
