Norman Baker returns to UK Bus Awards ceremony

Norman Baker returns to UK Bus Awards ceremony Norman Baker.

Former transport minister Norman Baker will return to the UK Bus Awards in his new role as Bus Users UK chair, having attended three successive ceremonies in 2010, 2011 and 2012 as transport minister. This year’s UK Bus Awards takes place at The Ballroom, South Bank on Wednesday 23 November.

“We are delighted that Norman is able to join us in November,” says UKBA chairman Tony Depledge. “As a former buses minister, Norman knows all about the need for quality in the bus industry and has been a strong supporter of our mission to recognise and reward excellence and good practice throughout the UK bus industry.

“We work very closely with Bus Users UK, particularly on our unique Mystery Traveller checks on service delivery, so it will be great to welcome their chair to present our prizes.”

Entries for the 2016 competition have now closed, and judging will take place during late July and August.

The shortlist for the 2016 competition will be announced at an event at the Volvo Technical Centre in Warwick on 6 October.
