Wayne Ulph new MAN general manager for bus and coach
MAN Truck & Bus has appointed Wayne Ulph as general manager for bus and coach in the UK, reporting to sales director Ian Mitchell. He replaces Paul Gardner who left to return to his family business last month.
“I started as a technician in 1986 and have worked my way through the ranks until I began with MAN Truck & Bus UK a decade ago in aftersales,” says Ulph. “I am passionate about the bus and coach industry and was brought up alongside them as my father runs Brecks Coaches in Rotherham. I joined the industry as a technician always with the intention of taking over the family firm, but as I got older, I decided I wanted to progress my career independently.”
Ulph started at Kirkby Central before moving to SJ Carlton and then to MAN.
“These are exciting times for the brand,” adds Ulph. “We have the new Neoplan Tourliner coming to the UK next year and of course the MAN TGE van presents some exciting opportunities with minibus options.”
Mitchell adds: “Wayne is clearly passionate about the bus and coach industry and with his strong background and product knowledge from MAN I am sure he will be a great success in the role.”
