Low Carbon Champions Awards call for nominations
The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership is calling for nominations for its 2017 Low Carbon Champions Awards. The awards are for organisations that have made a real difference in the area of low carbon road transport and the winners will be recognised at an event in the autumn. The deadline for submissions is Friday 16 June.
The LowCVP Low Carbon Champions Awards focuses on outstanding and innovative practice in accelerating the shift to lower carbon vehicles and fuels and reducing road transport emissions.
There are seven award categories including Low Carbon Heavy Duty Vehicle Manufacturer of the Year; Low Carbon Fuel Initiative of the Year; and Low Carbon Road Transport Initiative of the Year.
This year a new nominations process means organisations and individuals are asked to submit an ‘expression of interest’ which will be assessed by the LowCVP and then – providing the proposal is deemed suitable – be invited to complete the full nomination form for the most suitable entry category.
“The last year has been an exciting one for ‘greener’- and cleaner - road transport with many new product launches and innovations, as well as promising developments in automation and connectivity,” says Andy Eastlake, LowCVP managing director. “Our own government – and others around the world – have been making huge commitments to stimulate an industrial future with low carbon vehicles and fuels at its heart.
“This year’s LowCVP Low Carbon Champions Awards will be celebrating organisations that are at the forefront of this revolutionary change.”
The awards are assessed by a panel of judges drawn from the LowCVP’s wide range of stakeholder organisations.
Last year’s winners included Scania GB, First UK Bus and H2 Aberdeen.
