Two new Plaxton Volvo B8Rs for Woodstones
Woodstones Coaches of Kidderminster, which is currently celebrating 60 years in business, has expanded its all-Volvo fleet with the delivery of two new Plaxton-bodied Volvo B8R coaches, powered by Volvo D8K 350hp 7.7 litre engines. The latest order takes the fleet to six Volvo B8R Plaxton Leopards, all of which are Euro 6.
“As our business continues to grow, we wanted to add two quality, 70 seater, vehicles that would be reliable and offer the great fuel economy we have come to expect from this make and model,” says Woodstones director Richard Meredith. “This delivery also provides us with an opportunity to continue the successful working relationship that we have established with Volvo and Plaxton over a number of years.
“Our six-vehicle fleet is all specified on the Volvo chassis and we like the handling of the B8R with Plaxton body styling.”
Volvo Coach Sales in Coventry supplied the vehicles. Brian Walker, Volvo Bus and Coach sales centre, says: “Woodstones Coaches is a long-term Volvo Bus customer. We are delighted they continue to be a Volvo only operator, having now taken delivery of these additional new B8R coaches.”
Meredith adds: “We will always consider Volvo when it comes to purchasing new vehicles for our fleet and would be happy to recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, fuel efficient vehicle with great green credentials.”
Woodstones Coaches has been operating since 1957 in Kidderminster, moving to purpose-built premises on Hoo Farm Industrial Estate in 1983.
