The first provincial Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini 2 bus built and tested to European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval standards has been delivered to Delaine Buses of Bourne. It is a 75-seater based on a 10.5m-long Volvo B9TL chassis, and is Delaine’s first new Wrightbus product. Its previous B9TLs have been bodied by East Lancs/Optare. The bus is fitted with CCTV and is running on the service between Bourne and Peterborough.

“Our fleet is 100 per cent Volvo, but this is our first new double-decker to be bodied by Wrightbus”, explains Delaine Buses managing director Anthony Delaine-Smith.

The company has ordered a second identical bus for delivery in 2012.
