The first Wrightbus StreetLite midibus is now in service with Anglian Bus of Beccles. The StreetLite will be one of the stars at next week’s Euro Bus Expo. Anglian has ordered four 9.5m-long 37-seaters for operation between Diss and Great Yarmouth. They are being supplied by Mistral.

Anglian’s operations director, Andrew Pursey, says: “Mistral asked us over 12 months ago if we would like to be involved in a new project that they were working on with Wrightbus to develop a next generation midibus. We jumped at the chance and have since then been over to the factory on a number of occasions to see the bus taking shape. The end result is fantastic and Wrightbus have really delivered on their promise of a next generation vehicle.”

The StreetLite is Wrightbus’s first integral midibus, and has been built to meet the forthcoming European Whole Vehicle Type Approval rules. It is available with the door ahead of or  behind the front wheel, and has a four-cylinder Cummins ISBe engine and Voith gearbox.
