Investigation after crossing incident

British Transport Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a Harrogate and District bus narrowly avoided barriers at a railway level crossing in Knaresborough. BTP says that the bus continued over the crossing as the barriers were coming down and the red warning lights were flashing.

PC Steve Breary of BTP says: “Fortunately no-one was injured, but the potential consequences could have been tragic. There were a number of witnesses who were travelling on the bus, and who would have seen what happened and may therefore have information which could assist us with our investigation.”
