Investment: Westbus under new ownership

Investment: Westbus under new ownership Tim Miles, Westbus general manager.

FOLLOWING a change of ownership late last year at London-based Westbus, the company is investing to demonstrate that it is business as usual. The company is now owned by an Australian joint venture business, headed by the Comfort Delgro Corporation.

"We were keen to show our customers that although the company has new owners, it is still totally committed to providing the best coaches available," explains general manager Tim Miles. "Our million pound investment programme for 2006 is a clear demonstration that we remain totally focussed on maintaining the standards of quality and service which are synonymous with the Westbus name."

The company’s new vehicle intake includes two Setras, the company’s first.

"New ownership brings new opportunities," Miles adds. "We have the benefit of an established and experienced team here at Hounslow - which has continued unchanged – and of investment in new vehicles which clearly shows that both we and our new owners are united in working to build on the reputation we have for high-quality service."

Westbus operates a fleet of 26 vehicles and has been running coaches in Britain for 20 years. It was originally set up in 1986 as Westbus UK by the Australian company of the same name.
