MAN Wrightbus Meridian launched

MAN Wrightbus Meridian launched First look at the new Meridian, based on MAN A22 chassis.
MAN’s first Wright-bodied bus will be at the Coach & Bus Live show in Birmingham next week in the livery of its first customer. Wright and MAN have high hopes for the 12m Meridian, based on MAN’s A22 chassis with 10.6litre D2066 Euro 4 engine rated at 270bhp.

The first vehicle is a 44-seat single-door version with a two-door version to TfL specification to follow before the end of the year and there will also be a full low-floor version available for airport-style operation.

“The name of Wrightbus is synonymous with quality and I am delighted that we are able to enter into this partnership,” says Neoman Bus UK managing director Vince Welsh. “With a full low floor concept, it will open markets in which we have never been before.”

Wrightbus group managing director Mark Nodder adds: “The Meridian is an important addition to the Wrightbus range, bringing Wrightbus quality, passenger appeal, operational durability and in-service support to the full-sized low-floor single-deck segment. I firmly believe that it will prove to be a very flexible vehicle, meeting the needs of a number of operators both on scheduled urban routes as well as applications such as park-and-ride and airports.”
