Passenger Focus urges consultation Passenger Focus urges consultation
Passenger Focus has contacted all local transport authorities and PTEs in England outside London, asking them to consult passengers on any cuts they may be planning to local tendered bus services.

David Sidebottom, Passenger Focus’s bus director, explains: “Difficult financial circumstances faced by many local transport authorities and PTEs present an opportunity to build a more effective dialogue with local people about their bus network and how it may need to change. This will allow the benefits and impact of proposals to be explained, feedback from the public sought and modifications to proposals to be made. We would like to work with transport authorities to make the most of this opportunity.”

The move follows a recent Passenger Focus response to consultation by North Yorkshire county council on its proposed service reductions in which it said it would have liked to have seen more evidence of the potential impact of the proposals and a formal study of alternative options.
