Leading Scottish operator Moffat & Williamson of Newport on Tay has upgraded its predominantly Plaxton coach fleet with three new vehicles, two 10-plate Plaxton Profile bodied Dennis Javelins and a Mercedes-Benz Vario-based Plaxton Cheetah. For managing director Ian Williamson, these continue a long tradition of buying Plaxton coaches: “We know where we are with Plaxton products, we can run the Profiles on our coach operations for several years and then quickly and safely convert them to 70-seaters for our school contract work.’

Moffat & Williamson’s new Euro 4 Dennis Javelins are 12m vehicles with Cummins ISBe engines and ZF automatic gearboxes. They have 57 Esteban Irati reclining seats equipped with three-point seat belts. The seats are mounted on tracking, the inner tracks being offset to allow the later installation of three-plus-two seating to original equipment specification.

The new Cheetah has 33 seats and three-point seat belts.
