Port Sunlight Museum uncovers 125 years of history, offering visitors an opportunity to explore the village’s rich heritage and be enthralled by its craftsmanship and careful planning. The museum reveals William Hesketh Lever’s vision for his soap factory workers and his enduring legacy of the model housing, architecture and landscape he created for them.

Visitors can find out how life has evolved for the residents of this living village in Port Sunlight Museum on King George’s Drive, and understand the important work that the Port Sunlight Village Trust carries out in maintaining Port Sunlight so the village can be enjoyed and studied now and by future generations.

It is not just a village, but a thriving community that offers an art gallery, garden centre, hotel and restaurant, tea rooms and three, 4- and 5-star accredited holiday cottages.

Port Sunlight Village Trust gives guests the chance to become a ‘Sunlighter’, (a friendly term used for residents by the founder for his villagers).

Port Sunlight offers guided tours for groups, either on the coach or by foot.
