Paris-based transport group RATP reports its revenue in the first half of 2014 was €2,674million (£2,125million) up 3.3 per cent on the same period last year. RATP president and chief executive Pierre Mongin says: “The group has continued to grow, for example in the USA with the launch of the Tucson tramway and a new sightseeing bus service in New York City, and in India with the commissioning of Mumbai’s first metro line.”

In Paris, RATP services carried 1,654 billion people in the period, up 3.2 per cent on the first six months of 2013.
