Seneca goes all-electric

Seneca goes all-electric Seneca goes all-electric
Seneca, South Carolina, is claiming to be the first town in the world with a fare-free all-electric bus system when new buses are delivered from Proterra next year, supported by a grant of $1.8million (£1.1million) from the Federal Transit Administration. This follows an earlier award of $4.1million (£2.5million).

However the power of the claim is diluted when you realise that even with funding totalling almost $6million (£3.7million) Seneca's bus services are operated by just three vehicles on three routes run in partnership with Clemson Area Transit.
