UITP award nomination for Sapphire brand Arriva’s Sapphire brand competes for UITP award in Milan.

Arriva UK Bus’ premium Sapphire brand has been shortlisted for an award for exemplary commitment to customer excellence at the UITP  World Congress & Exhibition next month in Milan.

Sapphire launched in 2013 across four trial routes has since been extended to cover 16 further services across the UK.

“Since its launch, Sapphire has exceeded our expectations in terms of both patronage and revenue, and plays a pivotal role in our ongoing investment strategy,” says Mark Yexley, operations and commercial director, Arriva UK Bus. “It was designed specifically for our passengers, who in the 21st century demand something a little different from their transport providers. It continues to perform well across all the routes on which it operates, proving that we are not only achieving our goals, but are setting a real precedence in customer care for the industry as a whole.

Sapphire has been shortlisted alongside Taipai Rapid Transit Corporation, SMRT Corporation (Singapore), and Weiner Linien (Austria) for the customer service award which will be awarded on 10 June.
